Dimapur, April 7 (EMN): YouthNet’s Centre of Excellence for Entrepreneurship hosted the ‘Entrepreneurship and Scope of Private Sector’ programme at YouthNet office, Kohima under the chairmanship of Lezo Putsure, YouthNet Director.
The panelist for the programme were Yanpvuo Kikon, co-owner of Westside Dimapur, founder Naga Blog; Medo Putsure, founder of Bambusa; Anini Nyenga, project manager of IMPACT 5000 by 18;Nigel Eastwood, UK based entrepreneur, founder Group CEO- New call telecom international and Vijaya Eastwood, CEO- CribLife .
The panelists shared their experiences and stressed on the importance of starting one’s career early and encouraged the audience that skills can be achieved by having some prior work experience in the private sector.
Nigel said world is looking at the NorthEast as the next business destination therefore local entrepreneurs must catch up before outsiders take the opportunity.
Yanpfvuo shared on how exposure and moving out of our comfort zone is important. He also called upon the participants to be open-minded and move with the changes.
Medo talked on importance of discipline and emphasised on the importance of investment in the employees before the customers.
Anini spoke on time management while Vijaya who also help local entrepreneurs through her strong network spoke about the importance of research and following ones passion to live a happy and successful life.
Other topics such as good habits, discipline, diversity and financial awareness for entrepreneurs were also discussed.
The Centre of Excellence for Entrepreneurship is under YouthNet’s IMPACT 5000 by 18 programme, a joint program with Government of Nagaland to tackle unemployment and build an eco- system for entrepreneurship.
