Dimapur, June 12 (EMN): The YouthNet and Mount Mary College, Chumukedima on June 11 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on “Linking education to employment”.
An update received from the YouthNet, mentioned that the aim of MoU was to impart the college students with training and real work experience while they were in their final year of college.
Principal of Mount Mary College, C Teeya Imsong, termed it as a landmark move as students from the college would get real life work experience while they are still in college. He said students will also get to interact with people working across different sectors and learn from their challenges and success stories.
Nune Chase, who heads the training and placement agency Nagaland Job Centre, informed that the linking education to employment was a starting tool to bridge the gap between college students and helping them polish their life skills.
The program focuses on positive attitude, professionalism at the work place, communication in the new world, internship opportunities and job placements.
Mount Mary College has also been focusing on how to add more value to their students beyond education but to help their students thrive and succeed in the real world, the press release added.
