H Tovihoto Ayemi addressing the students during the
valedictory session of the Western Sumi Students' Union conference in Kuhuboto
town on January 23.
- DIMAPUR — Advisor
of Tribal Affairs and Election Department, H Tovihoto Ayemi, on January 23
called upon the youth to have passion and commitment to bring about
transformation in the society, while stating that youth are not only the
leaders of tomorrow but also can play an active role of change-makers in the
present day society.
- He stated this at the valedictory session of the 41st
biennial conference of Western Sumi Students' Union (WSSU) in Kuhuboto town as
the special guest. He said such a platform is an ample opportunity for the
student community to take away many positive things that can benefit an
individual in many ways. He, therefore, urged the students to make best use of
the exposure for the good of themselves and for the society.
- Describing WSSU as a body that represents the collective
voice and aspiration of the student community as well as the society, Ayemi
encouraged the students to nurture their ambitions to be responsible citizens.
- Reminding on the prevailing cutthroat competition in this
fast changing world, he encouraged the students to be self-enterprising, step
out of their comfort zone to seek knowledge beyond classroom, develop and
enhance their skills and prepare themselves for ever evolving job markets. He
concluded by advising that depending solely on government job is not going to
help.
