Dimapur, November 17: Considering the hardship faced by common man standing in the long queue outside banks in the wake of demonetisation moved by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the recently formed Dimapur based Bengali Youth Generation (BYG) undertook a noble initiative by distributing water and refreshment. BYG distributed refreshments to the bank staff, police personnel on duty and customers at Dimapur SBI main branch and SBI Bazaar branch.
Subir Dey, administrator of BYG while lauding the move by PM Modi, said though people are happy with the move yet they are annoyed and frustrated with the hardships they have to undergo by standing in queues outside the banks and ATM booths. He said the youth undertook the noble cause in order to support the move initiated by Narendra Modi and to relief the common people of their problem.
Meanwhile, with reports of increasing cases of dengue in Dimapur, BYG conducted fogging around Chatteswari which is also a congested area to control spread of dengue. It may be mentioned that earlier the BYG had provided meal to the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) workers on the occasion of Durga Puja celebration as a sign of appreciation for their relentless service in keeping Dimapur town clean.
In a similar programme, Dimapur based Bharat Sevashram Sangha on November 16 and 17 distributed waters and refreshment to the people in queue outside the banks and ATM booths.
