SCHE youth department organises ‘Faith Fest’ in Diphupar-A
DIMAPUR, JULY 10: YOUTH members of Salesian College of Higher Education (SCHE) resolved to nourish their faith through prayers and actively participate in the churches activities. The resolution to this effect was taken at the ‘Faith Fest,’ organized by SCHE Youth Department in Diphupar-A, 4th Mile, Dimapur, on July 10.
Fr. Karthikapallil Thomas, Director of SCHE; Fr. Chittissery Joseph, Secretary to the Director of Dimapur Provincial; and Bro Sebastian Kamsuan, Assistant Professor of SCHE; were the resource persons of the celebration. Fr. Chingjanpou James Kamei, Principal of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Maram, was the guest of honour.
Speaking on sacraments, Fr. Karthikapallil Thomas said, “Every Christian is blessed with a particular gift of the spirit and one should discover that and use it for the good of the whole society.”
Dwelling on the Ten Commandments, Fr. Chittissery Joseph said, “God gave us the Ten Commandments because He loves us and wants us to be with Him in heaven.”
Animating on Christian family, Bro Sebastian Kamsuan said, “Family is the place where we learn to pray, love one another and experience joy.” He also exhorted the youth to bring about peace and harmony in the family though dialogue and regular family prayer.
In the afternoon, quiz and group songs competitions were held and prizes were distributed to the winners.
In the concluding speech, Fr. Christudoss Anthony, Director of SCHE Youth Department, exhorted all the young people to keep on growing in faith. He said, “Youth is the best time to serve the Lord with enthusiasm and zeal. One should not forget God but continue to love God and become good Christians.”
He further thanked all the residential students of SCHE and the youth coordinators for the well organized programme and making the celebration a grand success.
At the end of the Faith Fest, the youth resolved to nourish their faith through prayers and active participation in the church activities.
Participants of the Faith Fest comprised of youth from five villages namely Diphupar –A, Diphupar –B, Burma-Camp, Chunchamlong (Lohorijan) and Zeliangrong Village (Dobhinala).
