Dimapur, Dec. 20: Underlining potential bestowed upon the youth, Joint Director of DUDA, Dr. Anungla Imdong Phom urged the youth to cease living in fantasy world but instead be part of reformation towards building a vibrant society.
Addressing the inaugural session of the four-day 58th general session of Yachem Students’ Union (YSU) on December 20, Dr. Anungla challenged the youth to think out of the box and have vision to live in this technology era.
Speaking on the topic “Resurgent Mind,” Dr. Anungla expounded on the quality of a good leader in which she advocated ‘Changing mindset,’ ‘Listening exercise,’ ‘Catch people doing things right,’ ‘Authentic relationship,’ and ‘Communication.’ She said leaders should not lack in communication skills.

Also stating that Naga youth never seek for driver’s seat but only seek for passenger’s seat, she challenged the youth in general and YSU in particular to be different from other rather than always being dependent.
She further encouraged the Yachem youth to write history without waiting for others to do. Reminding that Yachem village has a strong customary law, rich in cultural value and tradition, she asked the students to preserve it and maintain written records for future.
The programme was chaired by O Longtihamshong, while the inaugural display was performed by Yangkhen Club. The welcome address was pronounced by H Chingmei Phom, YSU general secretary, while word of challenge was delivered by H Matong Angh, president of Yachem Buhu Pangthai, Longleng, and ‘My vision for Yachem’ was said by T Koninentei.
