Wokha, Oct. 13 (EMN): Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) today conducted a sensitisation programme on Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (DDU-GKY) “Kaushal Panjee” at VDBs’ union conference hall, Wokha.
Speaking on the occasion, Tsenlumi Ezung, BDO Chukitong Block, said the government has targeted young people between 18 to 35 years in rural area to upgrade their skill and make them expertise in their respective chosen field. She added that the present government has targeted 500 million youth to be trained by 2022 in making India the skill capital of the world.
Nchumthung Ngullie, DRDA project officer, Wokha, encouraged the participants to streamline ones skills and interest of work as the government has taken up initiative to make the youth of the country employable. He advised the youth to identify their potentials and nurture them to profession. Highlighting that life is a challenge, he said one has to be self dependent and employable.
Visakono Chadi, SPM Skills- SMMU, shared a presentation on DDU-GKY, where she reminded the youth to cultivate “work culture.” Lamenting loss of work culture among the Nagas, she said non-Nagas have come to dominate in every economic activity.
Stating that “sincerity, dedication, and honesty” can only bring achievement in life, she advised the participants to go for the courses offered by the government to broaden their minds and apply those works and skills in the state after completing 3, 6 and 9 months.
Sentiyatet, master trainer of Kaushal Panjee, handed over the application forms to the participants.
The programme was chaired by Samuel Kithan Assistant District Programme manager, while invocation was said by Nchumbeni Ezung, DEO. Nzanbemo Y Patton, Block Programme Manager, Chukitong, delivered the vote of thanks.
