Dhuuuud...dhuuuuuud...dhuuuuuud… zoom passed the Royal Enfield , leaving me stunned with the sound and shocked to see a young boy in school uniform riding the heavy 350cc bike without helmet . He is really a lucky boy to have parents who have gifted him such a manly thing to ride.
Memories flashed in my mind about my past and I just smiled. The days when I walked along with my friends or sometimes cycle to school. The day when I asked my father his Bajaj Super Scooter for first time to go to college. The days when I have to cut my pocket money for petrol.
The days when my father warned me not to ride without driving license, until I got it and showed to him as proof. Those were the days and gone now, memories still linger.
These days I see lots of talented and skilled young boys and girls riding two wheelers in their matching school and college uniforms. They zoom pass under various traffic points of the town with earphones plugged in the ears!
Wow! they really have manoeuvring skills even at the speed of 60km/h , just racing even between the small passages of the busy highway. The heavy Royal Enfield, the KTM bikes, and other classic and sporty bikes (even don’t know the names of the bikes, lol) which cost more than a second hand car are today’s new generations passion or can say style statement.
But, but,but !
Are not the school going kids underage to ride or drive?
Do the school going kids have licence to ride or drive?
Is it safe for them to be without helmets on for safety?
Are not the live of our children precious to us ?
Is it not the duty of the school administration to check or guide the young children about the traffic regulations?
We all do love our children but will it be correct to fulfil their demands for bikes, scooty and cars at such young and tender age.
Let’s all think and answer ourselves.
