Kohima, April 29 (EMN): Imkong Jamir defeated Shantanu Pujari by unanimous decision to win the featherweight category at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Kohima on Saturday evening.
The tournament was organised by Wise Guy Entertainment India in collaboration with Yoddha fighting championship (YFC) and department of Youth Resources and Sports Nagaland.

In the featherweight category, Imkong Jamir being shorter focused more on his opponent Shantanu Pujari weakness. He delivered some strong fist and tried to tackle down his opponent till the last round. After pinnacles of exchanging blows, Imkong Jamir emerged victorious by unanimous decision.

Thousands of MMA fans came to witness the amateur fight championship as the best fighters from all over the country participated in the championship in different weight categories.

In an exciting match between Victor Angami and Suyash Jadhav of welterweight category, the complex echoed louder and louder as the fans cheered Victor even though he fought back till the last round exchanging some classic punches and takedown from both the fighters but Suyash Jadhav won through unanimous decision to lift the welterweight category.

In the other divisions, Manthan Rane beat Basavesh to win the Bantamweight category, while Rvdansh Azad defeated Amung Konyak to claim the lightweight category. Mandeep Aggarwal defeated Satya Behria to win the flyweight category. Sunny Khatri beat Aleto Nagi in the final to bag the strawweight category; however the belt was not given to Sunny as he was overweight in the category.

The championship also saw professional and exhibition matches as part of the tournament. In the first exhibition match; Matsung defeated Akula Rattaiah in the first round to win the match.
