Wokha, Sep. 19 (EMN): Amidst wrangle over the ownership of Naga People’s Front (NPF), MLA and Wokha division in-charge, Yitachu, today reaffirmed that its president, Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu, is the true leader and asked the party men not to be confused with those leaders who have deserted the party merely for money and power.
Speaking at the NPF Wokha division coordination meeting, Yitachu explained that the present government under the leadership of TR Zeliang/ Rio is unconstitutional which is unexceptional for Nagas and the NPF party. Alleging that the present government was formed by undermining all democratic norms through connivance of the chief minister, governor and the BJP in Nagaland, he questioned the veracity of the High Court in delaying its verdict.
Stating that Dr. Liezietsu had expelled the dissidents to safeguard the party principles, he advised the people not to be disheartened with the present political development but to cling on with the party adding its president still hold the legal authority.
Yitachu also urged the party workers to remain vigilant and to support true leaders having party principles and those who can lead their people in truth and honesty. He urged the party workers to choose a rightful candidate.
Yitachu, while appreciating the true party workers of Wokha district, urged them to start working for the ensuing elections to ensure victory of the party under the leadership of Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu.
The programme was attended by representatives from NPF central youth wing, women central wing. Short report was also delivered by presidents of 40, 39 and 37 Assembly Constituency.
Manthungo Kikon, general secretary NPF Wokha division, chaired the programme, while the invocation prayer was said by Zanao Ezung, assistant treasurer of NPF Wokha division. The welcome address was delivered by Mhonthung Patton and vote of thanks was delivered by Tachow, vice president Wokha division.
