Yingli College conducts ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ programme
Yingli College, Longleng, organised the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (Drugs Free India Campaign)’ in collaboration with the district administration of Longleng at Borgohain Hall

- DIMAPUR — The National Service Scheme (NSS),
Red Ribbon Club (RRC), and Anti-Tobacco Cell of Yingli College, Longleng,
organised the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (Drugs Free India Campaign)’ in
collaboration with the district administration of Longleng at Borgohain Hall on
March 25.
- According to a DIPR report, the event aimed to raise
awareness about drug abuse and its impact on individuals and society. The
principal of Yingli College, Dr. T Temsu Imti, delivered the welcome address.
- The resource person, Junior Specialist at District Hospital
Longleng (MED), Dr. Lipok Phom, delivered a session, highlighting the adverse
effects of substance abuse on physical and mental health. He emphasised the
importance of early intervention, rehabilitation, and the collective role of
society in combating drug addiction.
- A speech was delivered by EAC Hq. Longleng, Imkongnukla Ao,
who stressed the need for community involvement and proactive measures in
addressing drug-related issues. She encouraged students to be ambassadors of
change and to spread awareness about the dangers of drug abuse.
- The programme also featured a play by 6th Semester Political
Science students, followed by a pledge-taking ceremony led by assistant
professor and programme officer of NSS, Dr. Nurul Islam.
- A total of 262 attendees, including 215 NSS volunteers, 25
non-teaching staff, and 20 faculty members, attended the event. The students,
teachers, and non-teaching staff of the college were apprised of the latest
information on narcotics by the resource persons.
