Dimapur, June 20 (EMN): Following the expiry of seven-day deadline served on Yimchungrü national workers of NSCN (R) to disassociate themselves from the organisation, the Yimchungrü Tribal Council (YTC), apex body of Yimchungrü tribal community, has excommunicated five of its members with immediate effect.
The action to ex-communicate the members from the community was necessitated as desired by the Yimchungrü general public.
According to YTC information secretary Mathew K Janger, the ex-communicated persons included Athong, deputy kilonser; Among, joint secretary; Yimto, PRO; Maj. Lesanmong; and Maj. Chuba.
The aforesaid persons were ex-communicated for the alleged anti- community activities, YTC press release stated on Thursday.
YTC further stated that their citizenship might also be ceased indefinitely and they cannot claim as ‘Yimchungrü’ wherever they are. It also stated that YTC would not be held responsible in the event of any unwanted situation pertaining to the issue adding that their dead body would not be allowed to land in Yimchungrü land.
YTC also apprised and directed to all its federating units namely YAA, YWO, YGOA, WYH, PFPSD, PFST and YGBU and all the respective Yimchungrü village councils to strictly monitor against those expelled members and not to allow them enter in their respective villages.
YTC further informed all the concerned villages to report if any of the expelled member enter into Yimchungrü territory.
