Dimapur, March 24 (EMN): Yimchungrü community under the banner of Yimchungrü Tribal Council (YTC) on March 24 observed the “Red Letter Day” - considered as the most historic day in the history of Naga revolutionary movement and Naga peoples - to mark the commemoration of first Indo- Naga war which took place in Huker village on March 24, 1955.
Honouring the cause of Naga national movement, Huker village council, along with the rest of its tribesmen, observed the “Red Letter Day” at the first Indo- Naga War Memorial Park in Huker village.
The various speakers at the programme saluted the great and brave warriors of Yimchungrüs, who have contributed and sacrificed their lives for the cause of the Naga nation. Speakers maintained that the sacrifices rendered by the pioneers would always be remembered and honoured in the history of the Naga society.
The speakers also expressed gratitude to the pioneers of the Naga national movement for infusing the spark that marked the beginning towards the cause of the ‘Naga sovereignty.’
Yimchungru Baptist Boru Amukhungto (YBBA) also organised prayer programmes in all the churches across Yimchungru inhabited areas. It prayed for all the pioneers of Naga national movement and to those who laid down their lives for the cause of Nagas. It also prayed for wisdom among the Nagas leaders for a better future.
