- DIMAPUR — The
Yhosunutso clan held its second gathering in Thenyizu village under Phek district
on December 27, marking 30 years since the unification of its four sub-clans
namely Kapu, Resu, Thisa and Poru.
- Addressing the gathering, Dr. Rev. P Bonny Resu, lead pastor
of Chakhesang Baptist Church, Dimapur, called upon members to uphold honesty,
maintain availability for societal responsibilities and embrace teachability as
they work toward strengthening the community.
- He also encouraged the clan members to preserve and build
upon the legacy of unity and peace handed down by their forebears, an update
from the clan stated.
- The oldest clan member, Makhu Thisa, administered the
traditional blessings, while a prayer was said by Vesakho Thisa, director of
Children’s Ministry at CBCC.
- Speeches were also delivered by representatives namely
Thepuphi Kapu, Veluzo Poru, Vekhwutso Resu and Thenu-o Thisa.
- Meanwhile, the clan has resolved to organise general meeting
and census every 10 years. It also instituted awards for excellence in
education and sports including the Lt. Chorhitso Thisa Memorial Award, sponsored
by his children, to honour the HSLC and HSSLC toppers.
- According to the latest census, Yhosunutso clan has 827
members across the four sub-clans in Thenyizu village. Leadership for the
tenure 2025–2030 was also announced with Kehuthita Thisa as president and
Vekedu Resu as general secretary.
- The event also reflected on a historic pledge made by the
elders of the clan on January 16, 1986, which affirmed unity and peace among
the four sub-clans. It stated that the pledge, commemorated with a stone on
February 16, 1994, continues to serve as a guiding principle for the clan's
future generations.
