Kohima, April 15 (EMN): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio inaugurated the Yaweh Empower Stature (YES) Agro Park at YES Agro Farm Ghakhudo, Gariphema village in Kohima district on Thursday.
The YES Agro Park is a farm owned by a social worker named Vibeilietuo Kets and established in 2018, which now has about 27 farmers engaged in the integrated-model farming area.
Inaugurating the park, Rio urged the people to ‘eat the fruits and not the seed’.
He also urged the farmers to make the farm a model farming centre for others to draw inspiration and progress.
Meanwhile, the owner of the farm advocated 'My Culture Agriculture, My Future Agriculture'.
The farm practices one-stop integrated model farming of coffee, avocado, black pepper, lime, varieties of beans, corn, rice, sweet potatoes, papaya, banana, giloy, pumkim and taro.
The programme was attended by the principal secretary to chief minister, KD Vizo; Director Land Resource department, T Renben Lotha; Chief Engineer Water Resources department, Hotovi Ayemi; and host of other public leaders, government officials and farmers.
