
S Yanba Yimkhiung along with the officials of Y Anner
Village Students’ Union during its 63rd general session on Saturday.
- DIMAPUR — The Y
Anner Village Students’ Union (YAVSU) under Shamator district held its 63rd
general session on Saturday on the theme "Strive towards excellence"
with S Yanba Yimkhiung, advisor of Yimkhiung Tribal Council (YTC), as the chief
guest.
- Speaking on the occasion, Yanba thanked the people of Y
Anner village for inviting him to such an important programme. Describing the
village as the oldest among the Yimkhiung community and home to their
ancestors, he stated that it was a homecoming for him, stated a DIPR report.
- He encouraged the students to be more responsible and lead
the people as the world today has become different unlike during the time of
their forefathers. He advised them to acquire quality education and compete
with others with consistency and hard work.
- Being the oldest village among the tribe, he called upon the
residents and leaders to set an example in all aspects by seeking God's
guidance and put Jesus Christ at the centre of their lives.
- He further congratulated Risola Jan on her success in NPSC
exam as an Agriculture officer. He expressed hope that more students would
follow her footsteps and work hard with dedication to uplift the village and
society.
- The programme was compered by N Youngkiumong Yimkhiung and
Risola Jan, while an invocation prayer was said by P Mukamchim, youth pastor of
Y Anner Village Baptist Church, and guard of honour was presented by NVG of Y
Anner.
- The welcome song was presented by Thründan Luntsün Club and
a welcome address was delivered by the union president, L Shophu.
- Short speeches were delivered by Yimtokiu, Head GB of Y
Anner village, and H Hanji Yimkhiung, vice president of YTC, and concluded with
a vote of thanks delivered by Wongcham, advisor of YVSU.
