Alleging negligence on the part of the designated officers in performing their duties and the step-motherly treatment of the State Government towards the people of backward region, the AYY, in a release issued by its vice president Ariba Yimchunger and general secretary l. Akhang today, strongly warned all the government officers of different departments posted at Chessore to be back in station before October 1, 2016 or face action. The first phase of the inspection tour of the student body began on September 1 and concluded on September 14. The YAA listed the names of the offices and schools it inspected and highlighted the anomalies found. PWD (R&B) The SDO (R&B) posted at Chessore was transferred out in 2015 and presently the office is functioning without the said officer. The office also appears like a neglected road and is found locked throughout the month. The YAA urged the government for posting of the SDO at the earliest or call back the earlier officer before October 1, 2016. Primary Health Centre The dilapidated PHC Chessore was dismantled in the year 2009 and it has no office building of its own till date. It is temporarily functioning from a doctor’s quarter. The doctor is said to be on a study leave while the pharmacist is found to be out of station since July 7, 2016. The YAA directed the pharmacist to report to his place of posting within 15 days. It also once again reminded the department concerned for posting of the Medical Officer at PHC Chessore before October 1, 2016. It further reminded the department concerned that hereafter no doctor should be posted in any health centre under Yimchunger jurisdiction just to get ‘STUDY LEAVE’. Child Development Project Office The Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), Chessore has no building of its own and is temporarily running from a rented house. The YAA said it is saddened that the Chessore being one of the oldest established towns under Tuensang district has remained neglected and urged the government for development of the CDPO office. Block Development Office The Block Development Officer (BDO), Chessore has no quarter. The YAA urged the government for construction of the BDO quarter. Veterinary Office The Veterinary and Animal Husbandry office and its quarters at Chessore had been abandoned by the department. The YAA questioned if at all the Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry exists in Nagaland while seeking justification from the department towards the public at the grassroots level or if it is s only for the creamy layer. It said the people of the area have not benefitted from any schemes under this department. While maintaining that livestock production is very important for rural farmers in sustaining their economy, the YAA lamented that schemes do not reach the public. It also asked the authority concerned for strict implementation of the schemes.
