Dimapur, August 25
Expressing strongest and severest condemnation over the killing of one of its bonafide members Itoka Yeptho, son of Yekheyi Yeptho, by unidentified miscreants at Khaghaboto, Dimapur on the night of August 23, the Western Viyixe Village Union Dimapur has urged the Dimapur district administration to direct the investigating agencies to expedite the investigation with a sense of urgency and earnestly without leaving any loopholes and arrest the culprits within six days with effect from August 25 (Monday).
Itoka, a second year Higher Secondary student of Salt Christian College, Dimapur was murdered in a most savage, inhuman and inconceivable manner by the miscreants, the village union said in a memorandum to DC Dimapur today.
“We are extremely appalled as well as humiliated and distressed by the utterly heinous and beastly act committed to a student without an iota of remorse,” the memo said.
The union sought immediate action of the DC on the matter failing which it warned to take its own course of action and the district administration shall be held solely responsible for any untoward incidents that may arise.
The union also urged the DC to ensure that the culprits are awarded befitting and maximum punishment as per law so that justice is delivered.
Demanding that the culprits/accused should not to be granted bail under any circumstances whatsoever, the union sought monetary compensation to the victim’s family members.
It further demanded that the action taken in the case be notified to the public
“We hope and trust that you will exercise utmost wisdom while considering and fulfilling the demands made herein above and deliver justice in a transparent, fair and just manner,” the memo appended by Western Viyixe Village Union president Yetovi Achumi and general secretary Shenito Yepthomi told the DC.
