DIPHU — A 15-day wushu coaching camp, with the
aim of nurturing local talents to represent the district at the international
level, commenced on Jan. 3 at Jengkha playground in West Karbi Anglong.
Organised by the West Karbi Anglong
district sports officer, in collaboration with the West Karbi Anglong Wushu
Association, the camp features renowned international coach and judge, Wangmir
Wushu from Nagaland.
The coaching camp, from Jan. 3 to the 18th,
received sponsorship from Dr. Tuliram Ronghang, CEM KAAC, and the Department of
Youth Welfare, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council.
The inauguration ceremony was attended
by guests, including Honsing Terang, ex-VDC chairman, Mohonsing Kro, president
of AAPTA and parents of wushu students.
The initiative is a significant step
towards promoting wushu in the region and providing opportunities for local
athletes to excel in the sport.
