DIMAPUR — The Western Sumi Youth Front (WSYF) has condemned the incident where the president of the Western Chakhesang Youth Organisation was allegedly assaulted by five unknown individuals in Naga United village, Chümoukedima, on the night of May 2.
The WSYF in a press statement stated that such cowardly acts of violence and the tendency to take the law into one's own hands are highly condemnable and unacceptable in a civilised society.
The front pointed out that any differences or misunderstandings, no matter how serious, can and must be resolved through proper discussion, dialogue, and lawful means.
Acknowledging that a first information report was promptly lodged on the same day and reports indicate that one of the accused has been arrested and is currently under police custody, while four others remain at large, the WSYF urged the law enforcement agencies to take all necessary and immediate measures to apprehend the remaining accused and ensure that justice is delivered without delay.
The WSYF also extended its heartfelt sympathy to the victim and his family, praying for his speedy and full recovery.
