WSBAK revival conference concludes

Dimapur, Feb 15: Western Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu (WSBAK) conducted a three-day revival at Khekiho Village Baptist Church from February 10-12 on the theme ‘Walk with integrity.’ The conference witnessed participation of about 6000 delegates from Western Sumi region representing more than 150 member churches. Rev. Dr. Hevukhu Achumi, executive secretary WSBAK, and Dr. Hokheto Chophi, pastor of Sumi Baptist Church Kohima, were the speakers of the conference. During the conference special sessions for the sick, youth and family dedication were held. Dedication prayer was also held for the new appointees, transferred candidates and those relieved from their responsibilities. WSBAK honoured Rev. Dr. Hevukhu Achumi with ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for his service to the Western Sumi churches in particular and the Nagas in general and also to Rev. Luhoi Jakha with ‘Legendary Award’ for his pioneering works in the growth and nurturing of churches in Western Sumi region.Meanwhile, WSBAK thanked all those who gave their utmost for the success of the revival conference. Ghoheto Zhimo, evangelist WSBAK, was the conference in-charge and Rev. Shikuho Zhimomi, secretary mission and evangelism WSBAK, was the programme coordinator. Kughaho Zhimomi, village chief of Khekiho village was the chief patron of the conference. WSBAK executive secretary, Rev. Dr. Hevukhu Achumi has also thanked prayer warriors, volunteers and others for their valuable service rendered for the success of the conference. Further WSBAK conveyed best wishes for all those appearing for HSLC and HSSLC examination conducted by NBSE and CBSE. It prayed that God Almighty would give then sound mind and health throughout the examination and urged the students to desist from unfair means. WSBAK also acknowledged JCC and NTAC for allowing students to write their examinations and appealed to bandh enforcers not to trouble the students as they need peace of mind to prepare for the examinations. In a separate statement, WSBAK has felicitated Rev. Dr. Kavito Zhimo, Principal of Trinity Theological College, on his election as the president of the Senate for a term of three years and also to Dr. HS Rotokha on being conferred Doctor of Divinity ‘Honoraries Causa’ for his work in the society, particularly in the field of Sumi language and literature during the recently concluded 89th Convocation of the Senate of Serampore College (University) on February 4. WSBAK has appreciated the Serampore College (University) for the honour bestowed on its community members. It wished that the duo will bring greater accomplishment to the Sumi churches in particular and the Nagas in general through their dedicated service.
