Dimapur, July 6 (EMN): World Vision India (WVI), Mon, organised a five-day programme on ‘Life School for Transformational Development (LSTD) in Totok Chingnyu from June 30 to July 4 on the theme “Happy family, happy world.”
According to Y Nockyam Wangnao, WVI coordinator, LSTD is a five-day community celebration for children, where they are taught on moral values, importance of education, health and hygiene, proper nutrition and child rights.
Five lessons which were taught during LSTD included “Me and my family,” “My family and my neighbour,” “Safe family safe society,” “Me and my changing world,” and “My vision for my community.”
Altogether, 531 children attended the programme.
In a separate programme, World Vision India, Mon, organised a felicitation programme for students who have successfully cleared the Class X and XII examinations under NBSE and CBSE on July 5 at Grace Complex, Mon.
Speaking on the occasion, Superintendent of Police, Mon, and special guest, Imnalensa, urged upon the students to always set positive attitude and struggle in order to overcome obstacles.
“As you start your thousand miles journey, you may come across many trials and difficulties but try persistently until you achieve you goal,” she motivated the students.
C Nyamto Wangsa, National Teacher Awardee 2005, delivered words of encouragement, while Rev. Honlong, Principal of Mon Theological College, offered prayer for students. Wangyei spoke on behalf of students and Nobin Moolsom delivered the vote of thanks. The programme was chaired by Y Nockyam Wangnao, WVI Coordinator Development Facilitation, Mon.
