- DIMAPUR — The
Longleng District Health Society (DHS) conducted a one-day district-level
workshop on Surakshit Matritva Aashwasan (SUMAN), Gestational Diabetes Mellitus
(GDM) and quality Antenatal Care (ANC) at the conference hall of the chief
medical officer (CMO) in Longleng town on Tuesday.
- An update from CMO stated that Dr. Imtijungshi Aier, DPO
(RMNCAH+N), chaired the programme and made a powerpoint presentation on SUMAN.
Dr. Aier also briefed about the programme, an initiative that focuses on the
assured quality delivery services for both the mother and new born child. It
strives for zero preventable maternal and new born death.
- Dr. Nounenuo Terhase, OBG at District Hospital Longleng,
spoke on conducting quality ANC (clinical) and recording in MCP card with focus
on high-risk pregnancy identification, gestational diabetes mellitus– focus on
diagnosis at all levels of facilities and referral for management at FRU and
gestational diabetes mellitus–operational guideline.
- It stated that Viroli Sangtam, DPM NHM, spoke on high risk
pregnancy format– identification and tracking as per new guideline with
incentivisation and improving 1st ANC and 4th ANC along with reporting in HMIS,
while Akumjungla, DPM (QA), spoke on NQAS certification of SUMAN facilities
along with self–assessment checklist of SUMAN facilities.
- The participants of the workshop were medical officers,
senior nurses from District Hospital Longleng , ANMs and community health
officers from all the health units under Longleng district.
