KIPHIRE — The District Mental Health Programme (DMHP) under the National Health Mission, Kiphire, conducted a workshop on suicide prevention on the theme ‘Changing the narrative on suicide’ at the Fire Station Office, Kiphire, on Monday.
The workshop was attended by Kiphire fire personnel. Resource person Keniesanuo Kechu, psychiatric nurse, spoke about the importance of mental health. She explained how mental illness affects daily life and advised the personnel to stay physically active, avoid negative environments, and give priority to their overall wellbeing.
Counselling sessions were also given to individuals who needed mental health support.

The programme aimed to reduce stigma and discrimination around mental illness, promote open conversations, and encourage people to seek help.
The initiative hopes to create a safer and healthier community.
