Workshop on skill development held in Zunheboto

DIMAPUR — Pinnacle Skills Institution, Zunheboto, in collaboration with the district administration, organised a one-day workshop and orientation on skill development at VDB hall, Zunheboto, on Saturday.

The programme's special guest extra assistant commissioner (EAC) Chinglem Konyak, while delivering the welcome note, highlighted on the importance of skill development to mitigate the raising alarming rate of unemployment in the state as well as in the country, a DIPR report stated.

The EAC said that the district administration along with Pinnacle Skills Institution aim to empower the vulnerable sections of the society, focussing mainly on the targetted group - educated unemployed, girls and women and people in need of employment skills under Zunheboto district.

Centre manager of Pinnacle Skills Institution, Bothuka S Kiho, shared that the institution aims to employ the unemployed and works as a channelling source by training them in tailoring, baking, beautician (makeup and hair cutting) at minimal rates and free training on housekeeping with job placements.

The trainees would be certified after successful completion of the training, he added.

The district administration along with the institution also announced that a one-month free training on tailoring will be shortly conducted for all the interested candidates.

The trainers included Vilika Sumi (baking), Kughatoli Awomi (tailoring) and Huto Zhimo (beautician).

Earlier, the programme was chaired by Hitokali K Chophy.
