Dimapur, June 5 (EMN): Government Polytechnic Kohima (GPK), in collaboration with National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC), department of science and technology, New Delhi, conducted workshop on science and technology communication through folk media (puppetry) from May 30 to June 4 at Kin High School, Darogathar, Dimapur.
The workshop was conducted in order to create an additional method of science and technology communication through folk media. It was anticipated that the trained persons would use this medium in a systematic way to popularise science and technology mainly in the rural area.
According to a press release issued by the college’s principal, the participants were taught how to make a puppet during the workshop. It stated that the participants were divided into different groups, where each group was made to write own script base on science and present on stage using their puppet.
The workshop concluded by awarding certificate to all the participants. The workshop was attended by 63 participants who were taught by four resource persons.
