Workshop on Pediatric disorders held at Nikos Hospital

Dimapur, Dec. 10 (EMN): A one-day workshop on Pediatric Disorders and Rehabilitation was conducted last week at Nikos Hospital. Organised by Physionique Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Centre, Dimapur, the programme was chaired by Dr Frieda Bokali Engheepi. Dr. Apong Longchar, Paediatrician, Nikos Hospital shared his perspective on Paediatric disorders and Physiotherapy during the programme. He emphasised on various conditions that require physiotherapy management like CP, downs syndrome, erb’s palsy, spinal infections, muscular dystrophy etc, and stated that “there is a communication barrier between the Paediatrician and the Physiotherapist which needs to be solved for a smooth and successful outcome.” Longchar also encouraged the organisers to conduct more workshops in collaboration with the Paediatrician. Dr. Kavitha Raja (Phd) from Mysore stressed on Cerebral Palsy and Physiotherapy intervention and the need to treat children with paediatric disorders like any other normal children in the society.
