Dimapur, Oct. 29 (EMN): A three-day workshop on ‘Managing behavioural disorders in children and family therapy,’ organised by North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR), concluded on Thursday.
An update informed that the principal of NEISSR, Fr. Dr. CP Anto, in his address during the valedictory function, expressed gratitude to Dr. Sr. Joan Chunkapura and Fr. Dr. Mathew Thuniampral, for facilitating the sessions.
It added that the trainees have appreciated their wealth of knowledge, experience and practical input sessions.
Fr. Anto said the main objective of the training was to build a healthy mind culture that might transform families and communities respectively. He stated that a person with a healthy mind is always appreciative, self confident and has high self-esteem and becomes a transcended person who is devoid of ego and ensure to make other’s lives comfortable in all situations.
“As a social worker and teacher, we need to help ourselves first and then we become instrumental in transforming others in our family and community where ever we are,” he said.
Dr. Joan and Fr. Mathew dwelled on various topics concerning the challenges faced by children and suggested different therapies to deal with them.
Around 170 teachers, pastors, social workers and students attended the programme.
