Workshop on biodiversity conservation concludes

Dimapur, Nov. 25 (EMN): The awareness workshop on Biodiversity Conservation: Issues & Challenges” held at Government High School (GHS) Sungro under Sanis sub-division, Wokha concluded on November 22 with Lansothung Lotha, FR, and Dr. David Baite, Scientist Botanical Survey of India (BSI) as the resource persons. An update from the office of the divisional forest officer Wokha informed that Zuthunglo Patton, DFO Wokha, ‘encouraged the participants to be responsible and bring about change to make a better place for our environment and biodiversity’. Dr. N Odyuo, Scientist D, BSI told students to be ‘informed and adapt to a lifestyle for overall wellbeing of biodiversity even for the generations to come and urged them to adopt a tree each and distributed tree saplings to them’. The workshop was funded by the Botanical Survey of India under the aegis of the National Mission on Himalayan Studies Project and was organised by Wokha Forest Division.
