Works begin for Beth Shalom Healthcare Centre

Dimapur, Jan. 27 (EMN): After a five year hiatus since the laying of foundation stone for the Beth Shalom Diagnostics, Multispecialty and Research Centre at Moayimti village in Mokokchung district by the former Governor of Nagaland, BP Archarya, the work has began. The project is being initiated by the minister of Higher Education and Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along under Rem Group, a non-profit organisation.

The healthcare centre is part of the corporate social responsibility of REM Group. The healthcare centre is a multi-crore project aimed at providing quality healthcare services not only to the people of Mokokchung but also the neighbouring districts. It is a dream project initiated by Temjen Imna Along Longkumer, the then chairman of REM Group, an update from BJP Mokokchung unit stated on Wednesday, an update from BJP Mokokchung stated on Wednesday.

It stated that Along had always shared concern about the lack of proper healthcare facilities in the district particularly the Tsurangkong, Japukong and Jangpetkong ranges under Mokokchung.

Speaking at the dedication programme, Along recalled how the dream project of a modern healthcare centre at Moayimti was given wings through the then Governor of Nagaland BP Archarya who laid the foundation stone.
He admitted that the five years hiatus from 2016-2021 was a moment for the REM Group to reassess and redirect its objective towards providing a modern healthcare centre for the people of Tzurangkong and Nagaland. He assured that the centre would be functional within a year.

While admitting that the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted the economy, Along called upon the people to focus on development. He has called for a ‘collective effort and inclusive growth’.

Meanwhile, the dedicatory prayer was pronounced by S Moa Aier of ABAM (apex Ao church organisation), while the chairman of Moayimti village Council delivered the welcome address.

Village leaders from Tsurangkong and Japfukong ranges, officials from the BJP Nagaland Mahila Morcha, ST Morcha BJP Mokokchung and government officials attended the dedicatory programme.
