The Working
Committee, NNPGs, finds it necessary to issue a definitive clarification to
clearly articulate its position. This communication aims to address the
concerns of individuals who may seek to disrupt the strong bond and
relationship that the Working Committee has diligently preserved over the
years. Moving forward, we remain committed to fostering a constructive and
collaborative environment.
- The
Co-Conveners, and Signatories of the Agreed Position unequivocally reject and
refute the recent press release from the newly established Working Committee,
their allegation for the removal of Mr. N. Kitovi Zhimomi from the Convener of
the Working Committee representing the NNPGs is baseless. It is important to
emphasise that no such agreement or approval has ever been reached in any
meetings.
- During the
meeting, it was observed that in the absence of Mr. N. Kitovi Zhimomi, several
Co-Conveners were cautioned about potential legal action by some members of the
Khehoi camp. This warning was directed at those who expressed support for Mr.
Zhimomi as the Convener of the Working Committee. Such actions are considered
unprofessional and unethical, particularly given the responsibilities
associated with leadership within the Khehoi camp.
- One
noteworthy incident in the context of the NNPG involves the issuance of a
show-cause notice to Mr. Toshi Walling, Co-Convener of the Working Committee,
and Mr. Kiumukam, Co-Convener of the Working Committee, both of whom are
signatories to the Agreed Position. This action was taken by leaders who were
neither part of, nor signatories to the Agreed Position, which reflects a lack
of maturity in their approach.
- The Working
Committee firmly remains outside the internal impeachment processes of leaders
in their respective parties or groups. These internal matters are exclusively
their own and do not compromise the integrity of the Working Committee.
Historically, Mr. Isak Sumi, Ato Kilonser of NSCN-K, successfully navigated
impeachment challenges from his party members on two separate occasions. To
uphold the commitment of the Working Committee, he was allowed to continue his
active participation in its proceedings. This same standard of support is
applied to Mr. N. Kitovi Zhimomi as well. The issue of his impeachment is a
matter that pertains to internal organizational dynamics; therefore, his
position as Convener of the Working Committee remains unaffected.
