Won’t accept scholarship in instalments – ENCSU

Dimapur, Aug. 17 (EMN): The Eastern Nagaland College Students' Union (ENCSU) has stated that it will not accept the post-matric scholarship in instalments unless the state government and the department of Higher Education could produce an ‘official notification’ from the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs stating the same. In a statement issued on Friday, the union recalled that the scholarship was ‘misused by the state government and delayed for many months’ in 2016-17. It was only after its intervention, the ENCSU stated, that the then state government could disburse the scholarship in instalments. However, this year the union will not accept the scholarship in instalments, it stated.
