- DIMAPUR — The Thenyizu Baptist Church in Phek
organised a two-day women’s convention, which culminated on Sunday on the theme
“The strength of a godly woman,” which saw the participation of women from
Kohima, Dimapur, Chetheba, Utauliko, and the local church.
- According to an update, the objective of the convention was
to strengthen the bonds of Thenyizumi, foster collective growth and progress in
all spheres of life, and uphold the integrity and identity of Thenyizumi.
- The convention featured speakers Dr. Adela Mero from Rainbow
Academy and Resource Centre, Dimapur, and Vepalü Dawhuo, a counselling
psychologist.
- In her address, Dr. Mero urged mothers to teach their
children about God’s unwavering presence and faithfulness. “God has never
forsaken us,” she said, encouraging parents to share testimonies of His
blessings with their children to help them grow in faith. She stressed the importance
of living out the teachings of the Bible, adding, “We read the Bible, but we
must start doing what is written in it.”
- She also emphasised the significance of reverence in
worship, stating that people often prepare their best to meet important individuals
but should show the same energy and respect when coming to church to worship
God.
- Vepalü Dawhuo inspired attendees to build their lives on a
foundation of unshakeable faith, urging women to embody godly character and
strength in order to overcome challenges.
- The convention also included workshops addressing key
aspects of personal and community well-being, with Dr. Vezhokholü Losou
delivering a session on the “Importance of health and hygiene,” encouraging
participants to prioritise their physical and mental health.
- In her greetings, Vahina Thisa highlighted the strength of
godly women and their role in building faith within their families and
communities. She urged women to reflect God’s teachings through their actions
and inspire future generations by nurturing their spiritual growth.
