Womenfolk trained in eco-friendly business practices

[caption id="attachment_196966" align="aligncenter" width="500"] Participants with trainers during the training in the DBIDL hall in Dimapur.[/caption] Dimapur, July 23 (EMN): Two-day training on paper bag making was conducted for the affiliated units of the Naga Women Hoho Dimapur on July 20 and 21 in the DBIDL hall at Don Bosco school campus in Dimapur. The training was organised by the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) in collaboration with Naga Women Hoho Dimapur and CAN Youth. A press release from the CAN Youth on Monday informed that the training was conducted with an objective to provide livelihood to the participating women and also to promote eco-friendly business practices while discouraging the use of plastics. Altogether 56 women participated in the training. The trainers Alice, Marina, and Samuel from CAN Youth were assisted by the interns from Bosco Institute in Jorhat; NEF College of Management & Technology in Guwahati; and AIDA IGNOU in Dimapur. The updates informed that the chief functionary of CAN Youth, Jenpu Rongmei during his introductory speech spoke on the various environmental issues concerning the state and the urgent need towards promoting paper bags. The women participants were encouraged to join hands together with the DMC for competing in the market arena with their products so as to promote the paper bags and achieve the target. Rongmei urged the women to create history by being the first to utilise paper bags in the state and to come up with their own brand. Vimenuo, the vice president of the Naga Women Hoho Dimapur encouraged the women to acquire all the required skills from the trainers without hesitation. She also encouraged the women to start their own initiative and to aim for the long run. Abeau Mero, entrepreneur and social activist also spoke about the climate cohange of Dimapur due to environmental pollution and the use of non-recyclable products. She mentioned about the upcoming organic project to be launched for the development of rural women. She thanked the CAN Youth team in helping the society. The CAN Youth has informed all youth organisations or business communities to contact them for training or to order paper bags.
