Dimapur, May 16: The essence of women is goodness and flowers represent that goodness; women should always emulate that ‘sweetness’ in their lives, women of Peren district were given that statement of encouragement recently.
The first-ever flower show and sales for Peren district was organized by the Peren Town Women Welfare Organization at Peren town on May 14. The Additional Deputy Commissioner of the district, Tainiu Yim, was the chief guest of the event. Addressing the formal event of the day, Tainiu Yim said that ‘flowers always represent womanhood invariably.’
‘Women should always represent beauty from within, which is the essence of a woman,’ the administrator said. ‘Flowers refresh our minds and soothes our eyes and enlivens our spirit with sweet fragrances, apart from being beautifying pieces in our lawns and gardens,’ Tainiu Yim said. She has called upon the womenfolk of the community to emulate the beauty of flowers and “belt out the sweetness of a flower in our daily life.” She also quoted Mother Teresa: “If women have positive eyes; the world will love you more.”
During the show, Nsetning Colony’s Ivy Pink flower secured the first position while Beilikui Colony with green ferns and Peukwakram Colony with yellow creepers secured the second and the third position, in that order.
The judges for the show were Kevi Meru, Avinuo and Apetle.
