Kohima, March 8 (EMN): The department of Women Resources Development on Tuesday honoured four women achievers commemorating International Women's Day cum Myki Fest Award Day.
The awardees of Myki Fest awards were Sesino Yhoshü in the Field of Art and Cinematography; Zakilhounuo Tepa in the field of Entrepreneurship; Abi Humtsoe in the field of Entrepreneurship and 81 years old Sibeule Zeliang from Peren in the field of Social Work.
The award carries a sum of INR 40,000, certificate and gift hampers.
The programme was a continuation of the Hornbill Festival cum Myki Fest 2021 which was abruptly halted owing to the Oting killing incident last December.
It was held at Sakhrie Park in Kohima wherein the Commissioner and Secretary of Women Resources and Horticulture, Anenla T Sato attended the occasion as special guest.
Anenla T Sato in her address shared on the role of women in society and also called for effort to advocate for women rights for a better society.
She pointed out that to have a better society tomorrow, all members of the family irrespective of gender have equal responsibility for the development of society.
The official also suggested the need for dialogue and convergence in taking decisions to move ahead to build a better home and society.
Sato also challenged women to be responsible and build a stronger nation.
Meanwhile, on the occasion, competitions on acrylic painting and prepared speech were also held to commemorate the event.
In acrylic painting competition, Thuisemla Shanglai won the first position and won INR 30,000 with certificate and gift hampers, while Amenuo Khoubve stood second and Vimhakho Sotetsu won third position. They received INR 20,000 and INR 15,000 with certificates and gift hampers respectively.
Wulo Akami won the Viewer’s Choice Award and received INR 10,000 along with certificate and gift hampers. The consolation winners were Raju Gurung, Mhashi Kennao, Nchumbeni Chuilo, Ketouvizo Nakhro and Medovituo Rutsa, and they were awarded with INR 3000 each and gift hampers.
In prepared speech competition, Lihzu Shiney Konyak won the first position and received INR 20,000 with certificate and gift hampers, while Nungsanglila Jamir and Bangmei Clarissa Konyak won second and third positions respectively and were awarded INR 15,000 and INR 10,000 along with certificate and gift hampers.
The consolation prize winners Asano Tacü, Mapukala Jamir, Ketholebeinuo Kuotsu, Kaimangchoba and Yinjun C Naam received INR 3000 with certificate and gift hampers.
