Tesen Students Union and PHC Mbaulwa organised a women's health awareness programme in Peren district.

DIMAPUR — The Tesen Students’ Union, in collaboration with the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Mbaulwa, organised an awareness programme on women’s health at the Tesenlui Council Hall in Tesen village, Peren, on May 23.
The programme was conducted with the objective of creating awareness among women and the general public on various health issues affecting women in rural communities.
According to a DIPR report, the awareness session covered several topics related to women’s health, including reproductive and sexual health, immunisation, hypertension, mental health, and the medical termination of pregnancy.
Medical staff and healthcare professionals from PHC Mbaulwa delivered presentations and conducted interactive discussions highlighting the importance of maintaining proper health, early diagnosis, regular medical check-ups, and healthy lifestyle practices.
Special focus was given to educating women on reproductive health and hygiene, the importance of child and maternal immunisation, and the growing concerns surrounding hypertension and mental health issues within society.
The speakers also sensitised the participants on safe medical practices and the legal and medical aspects concerning the medical termination of pregnancy. Participants were encouraged to openly discuss health-related concerns and seek timely medical assistance when necessary.
The programme witnessed the participation of around 70 individuals from four neighbouring villages. Attendees interacted during the session, raising questions and sharing experiences.
The Tesen Students’ Union expressed appreciation to the Primary Health Centre, Mbaulwa, for their service and support towards the welfare of the community.
The union further acknowledged the commitment of the healthcare staff in promoting awareness and strengthening healthcare outreach in the rural areas.
