Members of Watsu Mungdang pray at Town Square (Police Point) in Mokokchung town on July 19, to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic.

Mokokchung, June 19 (EMN):
Amid fear and uncertainty due to global outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, Watsu Mungdang has turned to God for refuge and strength by organising a prayer programme.

On Friday, around 30 members of the Watsu Mungdang joined hands in prayer for love, mercy and truth among the people as well as to deliver the people from the challenges posed by the virus at Town Square (Police Point), Mokokchung.

Faith leaders led the prayer for medical professionals, caregivers, researchers responsible in fighting the virus and protection for people at high risk areas, infected patients at hospitals and inmates at various quarantine centres. The prayers were conducted on adoration, confession, thanksgiving and supplication.

The members believed that in these testing times, faith-based organisations, civil societies, and religious leaders could play vital role in bringing the community together for a unified response to Covid-19 amid anxiety and fear among the people.
