Dimapur, Mar. 5 (EMN): A woman was killed in a road mishap that took place between Peren and Jalukie town on Mar. 5 in Peren district. Reports said that the victim, identified as one Haiheule, succumbed to injury.
She was said to be a mother of two children and a resident of Jalukie town. According to reports, she had participated in the protest rally that was held at Peren town on Mon. to demand re-polling at certain polling stations of 7th Peren assembly constituency.
Sources attributed the cause of accident to mechanical failure. It was informed that another person was injured in the accident.
Meanwhile, it was also informed that supporters of a certain political party had vandalised the lone government hospital in Jalukie town on finding that medical personnel were absent from the hospital.
It was reported that the supporters resorted to vandalising the hospital on finding the out that the medical personnel were absent from work when they brought the victims of the accident for treatment.
The magnitude of damage could not be assessed till the filing of this report.
