Dimapur, Nov. 16 (EMN): A meeting of the Wokha district task force of the child education scheme Beti Bachao Beti Padhao was conducted on November 16 in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner’s establishment in Wokha.
The meeting discussed modalities for implementation of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao for 2019-20, updates stated.
The government publicity agency the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR) gave updates to the media on Saturday informing about the notification
Additional deputy commissioner for Wokha, Mhathung Tsanglao presided over the meeting. He requested all the line departments to prepare and submit their respective action plan that are to be taken up from January to March 2020, the updates stated. He reviewed the various programmes that have been conducted during the past and suggested making improvements where there are gaps in the work.
Tsanglao said also that this time the activities for the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao will focus more on the grassroots. The official requested the line departments to “converge plans” and extend fullest co-operation in this regard, the IPR stated.
The subdivision officer (civil) for Wokha, Ajit Kumar Verma, also addressed the event. He requested the department of Education to take active part and to give more effort and work for the welfare of the girl child. He also sought a detailed list of female drop-outs besides a list of meritorious students.
During the meeting, matters concerning forthcoming activities to be taken up during the month of November and December 2019 were also deliberated by the officials during the meeting.
The activities they discussed about included medical camp, seminars on empowering persons with disabilities; health care facilities and information on existing schemes; village health and nutrition day; singing competitions and painting competitions; and matters about financial status of the first instalment for 2019-20, the IRP stated.
