Wokha’s FPO gets new collection and aggregation centre

Dimapur, June 10 (EMN): The department of Agriculture of Wokha held an inaugural programme for collection and aggregation centre for Farmers’ Producers’ Organisation (FPO) on June 7. An update on Sunday informed.
Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer Rosemary Ezung spoke about the objectives, role and function of FPO. She described an FPO as the ‘most’ appropriate organisation.
She is of the view that the organisation is a forum where mobilization of farmers is to be made for building capacity to collectively leverage their production and marketing strength.
District Agriculture Officer Renbomo Ngullie urged the FPO members to enhance the production and increase the farmers’ income.
He also reminded that the FPO is accountable to farmers and social responsibility.
