Dimapur, Feb. 11 (EMN): The district election officer (DEO) of Wokha, Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon has informed government employees appointed for the conduct of election shall be deemed to be on deputation to the election commission for the period commencing on and from the date of the notification calling for election and ending with the date of declaration of results and accordingly, such officials shall, during that period, be subject to the control, superintendence and discipline of the Election Commission.
Employees appointed for official duty in connection with election if found guilty of any act or omission and breach of official duties without reasonable cause shall be punishable under relevant section of law.
In this regard, head of department/offices under Wokha district are directed to ensure that officers and staff under their establishment attend the training without fail to avoid disciplinary action.
2nd round training
The DEO also informed that the 2nd round of training for polling personnel appointed doe election duty will be held at Government Higher Secondary School, Wokha at 10 a.m.
Training for presiding officers and 1st polling officials has been scheduled on Feb. 15 and 2nd, 3rd, and 4th polling personnel on Feb. 16. Polling personnel are directed to attend the training positively. Disciplinary action shall be initiated against the absentees as per the relevant section of law, the notice stated.
2nd medical board
The 2nd medical board for exemption of polling personnel of Wokha has been scheduled on Feb. 14 at 10 am at the Dr. Motsuo Memorial Hospital in Wokha. Polling personnel who have applied for exemption on medical ground are asked to report.
