Wokha Winter Cricket Challenge: Waxen and Genesis Old Riphyim register wins

WOKHA — The 30th Winter Cricket Challenge, organised by Senior Noble Klan under the aegis of the Nagaland Cricket Association, saw two matches played on Monday.

In the first match, Waxen won the toss and elected to bat, setting a target of 162 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. Key contributions came from Tsenpon (65), Shiva (29) and Yanshumthung (23).

Chasing the target, WDCA struggled, with only four players reaching double figures—Liren (41), Amrit Kumar (22), Rahul (15), Wojanthung Ngullie (11) and Yanrenthung Ngullie (10).

They eventually fell short by 36 runs, losing 9 wickets. Tsenpon Murry was adjudged Man of the Match for his 65-run knock.

In the second match, Hill Strikers opted to bat first and were bowled out for 120 runs in 20 overs. Nchum Kikon (34), Chiben Jami (22), Romokhon (13) and Subenthung (14) were the main contributors.

Badminton Association Khensa’s 2nd winter challenge tournament concludes

While chasing, Genesis Old Riphyim secured a commanding victory by 10 wickets in 11.1 overs. Opener Rendemo smashed a quickfire 71 runs, while Nzanthung Mozhui added 39 runs. Mhachamo Mozhui was named Man of the Match for his five-wicket haul.
