Wokha, June 16 (EMN) : Additional Deputy Commissioner of Wokha K Thavaseelan today gave away certificates to trainees of a five-day Training of Trainers on Community First Responder (CFR). The valedictory programme for the Training of Trainers on Community First Responder was conducted at the town hall in Wokha town on June 16.During the event, K Thavaseelan encouraged the participants to spread the techniques that they learned at the event and impart them to their family, friends and community in general. The volunteers are now acquainted with their duties during emergencies when the department is out of reach. He encouraged them to continue training on disaster management across the state and drive more volunteers into saving lives during any eventualities.
On behalf of the volunteers, Nongnan Lotha, highlighted their experiences and thanked the NSDM authority of Wokha district disaster management, the trainers and the SDRF team for their efforts in training them with techniques that save life during disasters. He urged for a strong team, besides urging them to return to their respective colony and village to train youths with what they have learned.
The programme trained 50 volunteers and 18 trainers of trainers.
