WTBC concludes its first sports evangelism programme in Wokha, featuring football and volleyball finals with strong youth participation.

WOKHA — The Wokha Town Baptist Church (WTBC) on Wednesday successfully concluded its first sports evangelism programme, held from February 9 to 11 at the public ground, Wokha.
Altogether, 12 teams from the combined colonies of Wokha town participated in the tournament. A brief closing ceremony was held on February 11, during which Rev. Nyanchumo Lotha, executive secretary of the Lotha Baptist Churches Association (LBCA), Vankhosung, exhorted the gathering.

In his message at the closing ceremony-cum-fellowship programme, Rev. Lotha urged the youth to acquire skills and strive for professionalism, citing employment challenges in the state. He emphasised that success in life requires determination and skill, while also reminding that nothing can be achieved without God.
In the women’s volleyball final played on Wednesday, the Suren–Midland–New Colony team defeated the Blue Hill–Rachana–Tchuyiro–Chanka Colony team 3–1 in a five-set contest.
Meanwhile, the men’s football final between Etsutchukha Colony and GHS & Zuvotong Colony ended in a draw, forcing a penalty shootout in which Etsutchukha Colony emerged victorious.
