Dimapur, July 9 (EMN): Wokha district has decided to observe Amur Falcon conservation week in the first week of November coinciding with the celebration of the mini hornbill festival.
This was announced by the advisor of horticulture, Mhathung Yanthan, during the monthly meeting of the Wokha District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) in the conference hall of the additional deputy commissioner (ADC), Bhandari, on July 9.
Speaking on the occasion, DPDB vice chairman and DC, Wokha, Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon, has welcomed the officers who were recently transferred to Wokha district.
While reviewing the last meeting minutes, ADC Wokha, Mhathung Tsanglao, stated that Lotha Eloe Hoho and EE, PHED, were included as co-opted members for clean and plastic free zone, Wokha.
The DRDA Department, while highlighting its activities in the district under NRLM, stated that the objective of the mission was to reduce poverty by enabling poor households to access gainful self- employment and to help them have skilled wage employment opportunities in order to uplift their livelihood.
A crucial issue on nil results in the HSLC 2018 by GHS Longsa and GHS Changsu were also deliberated.
Chairman of DPDB Wokha and advisor of Science & Technology, IT & Communication and NRE, Mhonlumo Kikon, in his opening remark, cited that DEO Wokha should bring out a detail report on the performance of the teacher in-charge, the teachers and the status of the mentioned schools, stating that nil result should not be repeated in future.
Advisor of horticulture, Mhathung Yanthan, while highlighting on various agendas, has stressed on the needs to submit proposals in the next DPDB meeting for approval. He also mentioned that the state government would observe Amur Falcon conservation week in the district with various activities in the first week of November in the line of celebration of the mini hornbill festival.
On the 75th anniversary celebration of GHSS Wokha, the chairman stated that the interest and progress of the school is not only the look out of the school management but should be the responsibility of all concerned.
