Wokha Police arrest four men for allegedly assaulting two minors, with one suspect absconding as investigation continues.

WOKHA/KOHIMA — Wokha Police have arrested four men in connection with alleged sexual assault of two minors, following a complaint lodged on November 10.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Chumlanthung Y Humtsoe (26), Zurenthung R Odyuo (19), Zuchanbemo Felix (29), and Khyothungo Yanthan (21). Another suspect, Myingthungo Humtsoe, is absconding.
The superintendent of police, Wokha, informed Eastern Mirror that the incident first came to light through a complaint alleging the assault of a 15-year-old girl on November 4.
However, during the course of investigation, it was established that a second minor had also been assaulted and that the offences took place on more than one occasion.
The case has been transferred to Wokha Women Police Station and registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.
Additional Superintendent of Police Wokha, Berin Lotha, said that the minors are under the care of Child Welfare Committee.
He added that the investigation is at an early stage and that further details cannot be shared.
Sources said the condition of the minors is stable.
