Dimapur, March 13 (EMN): The district election officer of Wokha Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon has ordered removal of photographs of political functionaries from official websites. This is in accordance with the Model Code of Conduct, updates from the IPR stated.
All the heads of departments in Wokha district have been asked to remove photographs of political functionary from official websites immediately in accordance with the code of conduct. The head of department will be held responsible if there is failure to comply with the Election Commission’s instructions, the updates stated.
Workshop with political parties, NGOs in Mon
In Mon, the district’s election officer Thavaseelan K, conducted a meeting and a workshop for political parties and civil society members concerning the matter of Model Code of Conduct, Election Expenditure Monitoring, and Information Technology applications. Updates from the IPR stated that there was an overview of electoral processes.
The meeting was conducted on March 13 at the DC’s conference hall in Mon. Thavaseelan demonstrated use of the voter verifiable paper audit trail and electronic voting machines, among others, during the event.
