Wokha Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party holds felicitation, consultative meeting
Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party Wokha region organised a felicitation programme for the government nominees, Wokha Town Council (WTC), and Bhandari Town Council (BTC)

The felicitation programme and consultative meeting in
progress at Hammock Resort, New Wokha village, on Tuesday.
- DIMAPUR — The
Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) Wokha region organised a
felicitation programme for the government nominees, Wokha Town Council (WTC),
and Bhandari Town Council (BTC), along with a consultative meeting, at Hammock
Resort, New Wokha village, on Tuesday.
- According to an update, the event was attended by Mhathung
Yanthan, Advisor for Agriculture and legislature in charge, NDPP Wokha Region,
and Dr. Chumben Murry, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Nagaland, senior vice
president, and coordinator, NDPP Nagaland.
- During the programme, the pledge was read out by the
respective government nominees of WTC and BTC, as well as the NDPP Wokha
Region. The government nominees thanked Neiphiu Rio, Chief Minister of
Nagaland, Yanthan, and Dr. Murry.
- Short speeches were delivered by all the nominees—Benathung
Ngullie, Pyingthungo Ezung, Thungchibemo Murry, and David K Lotha.
- Khozamo Lotha, chairman of Wokha Town Council; Mhonthung
Patton, secretary of CEB members, NDPP Nagaland; and all the A/C presidents
expressed their willingness to work towards the upliftment of the party.
- In his speech, Dr. Murry congratulated the newly nominated
councillors. He emphasised the importance of the relationship between the
elected members and nominees, encouraging regular consultation between them.
- He also highlighted the significance of regionalism in
Nagaland, given the unresolved Naga political issue. Dr. Murry thanked the MLA
of the 40 A/C for considering the Bhandari Town Council for the NDPP party.
- Yanthan stated that the nominees had been chosen due to
their support for the party and their exceptional qualities. He reminded them
that it was because of the party that they were in their current positions,
urging them to respect the party.
- He also emphasised the importance of working together to
address any necessary changes for the party and encouraged collective efforts
for the betterment of the people.
