
DIMAPUR — The Wokha district planning and development board (DPDB) has welcomed its new chairman and MLA, YM Humtsoe during the board monthly meeting held in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner’s office on Friday.
Addressing the members, Humtsoe expressed gratitude to the state government for appointing him as the chairman of DPDB, Wokha, and appealed to all the members to extend full cooperation for the successful implementation of the government policies and schemes for the benefit of the district. He also expressed gratitude to the outgoing chairman and advisor of Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan, for bringing about many changes in the district during his tenure, stated a DIPR report.
The new chairman also directed all the head of offices in the district to regularly attend the board meeting. He also congratulated the newly elected WTC members also appealed to give their best to bring changes in the district.
Meanwhile, the board felicitated the winners of the recently concluded Nagaland Olympic 2024 in various disciplines representing Wokha district.
The superintendent of police, Wokha, Aotula T Imchen, highlighted introduction of the new criminal laws to its members.
The board also approved and recommended for registration of Integer Society Pangti, Wokha District Areca Nut Growers’ Association, Longzu Welfare Society Chukitong and Wokha District Athletics Association.
Besides, the board has discussed and approved the schemes under Local Area Development Programme (LADP) 2024-25.
While reviewing the last meeting minutes, the board expressed their reservation on the progress of the damaged portion of Wokha-Merapani road, where the NIHDCL has assured to take up the restoration and repair of roads within 10 day. In this regard, the board urged the company to take up the project earnestly at the earliest.
